Let’s be honest—no one really knows what they want to do for a living when they’re in high school. At least, Kelli didn’t. She knew she loved being creative and definitely didn’t enjoy math, science, or anything too technical.
Luckily for Kelli, she was part of the very first freshman class at Hardin Valley Academy back in 2008, when the school opened and introduced a new “academy” format. The options were Business & Law, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Health Science, and Liberal Arts. For obvious reasons, Kelli chose Liberal Arts and spent her high school years diving into extra English and art courses—a choice that, looking back, quietly paved the way for her creative career.
Seventeen years later, Kelli now works as a Senior Graphic Designer—one who recently had the honor of designing Hardin Valley’s new freshman academy logo, along with several murals and graphic elements throughout the school. It was a beautiful full-circle moment for her to return to HVA and leave a creative mark on the place that helped nurture her love for the arts.
Kelli is extra grateful for Graphic Creations and their strong community focus, which opened the door for her to give back to her high school alma mater in such a meaningful way—using creativity to leave a little piece of her story where it all began.
